Avid Home Services started in St. George with a simple idea: the exterior upgrades that change how a home feels every single day deserve specialists, not a side offering from a company that mostly does something else.
Our Story
Started In The Desert
We are headquartered in St. George, Utah, which turned out to be the ideal place to learn both of our trades the hard way. Southern Utah punishes exterior products: summer highs over 105°F, some of the most intense UV exposure in the country, monsoon rain that arrives all at once, and winter nights that still drop below freezing.
Products that are fine in a mild climate fail here. Housings go brittle, lenses yellow, adhesive clips release off hot fascia, and turf fiber bleaches and mats down. Learning which materials actually survive that — and which installation details matter — shaped how we spec every job, including the ones in far gentler climates.
That is also why we expanded the way we did. Permanent lighting now runs in 11 markets across Utah, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia. Every one of those markets brought a different problem to solve: lake-effect ice in Cleveland, salt air in Tampa, freeze-thaw cycling along the Wasatch Front. The standard we set in the desert travels well.
Artificial turf stayed in Washington County on purpose. Turf is far more sensitive to install quality than lighting is, and the base has to be right for the yard to drain and stay flat. We would rather be excellent in one region than adequate in six.

We stand behind the install
Every job is measured, quoted, and warranted by Avid. We keep the records, we answer the service call, and the standard does not change from one market to the next.
We spec up, not down
Commercial-grade sealed fixtures. UV-stabilized turf fiber. Properly compacted aggregate base. These choices cost more up front and are the entire reason a system is still right in year fifteen.
We quote honestly
We measure in front of you, hand you a written price, and leave. No expiring discount, no four-tier pressure sheet, no deposit to get a number. If we are not the cheapest bid, we will tell you what the difference buys.
We answer the phone later
We keep records of every system we install — fixture runs, zone maps, controller configs. A service call three years out starts from our notes, not from scratch.
We stay narrow
Two services. We are not a general contractor adding lighting as an upsell. Specializing is what lets us install faster, cleaner, and with fewer surprises than a crew doing it occasionally.

We are licensed and insured in every market we serve. Proof of insurance is available on request before any work begins, and we will send it directly to your HOA, property manager, or architectural review committee if they require documentation.

Warranty coverage
Lighting fixtures carry a manufacturer warranty with lifetime product warranty options. Turf carries a manufacturer warranty on the fiber. Our installation workmanship is guaranteed separately — and both run through one phone number.
