General

What services does Avid Home Services offer?
We specialize in two things and do them both well: permanent architectural LED lighting installed on the eaves and fascia of your home, and premium artificial turf installation for front yards, backyards, and custom putting greens. Staying narrow is deliberate — it is why the work stays consistent from one house to the next.
What areas do you serve?
Permanent lighting is available in 11 markets: St. George, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Reno, Cleveland, Columbus, Nashville, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Charlottesville. Artificial turf and putting greens are currently offered in the St. George, Utah area, including Washington, Ivins, Santa Clara, and Hurricane.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, in every market we serve. Proof of insurance is provided on request before any work begins, and we are happy to send it to your HOA or property manager directly if they require documentation.
How do I get a free quote?
Request a quote online or call or text (888) 306-2413. We respond within one business day to confirm your market and schedule a free on-site visit, usually within 48 hours. The estimate is done at your home with exact measurements, so the number you get is the number you pay.
Is the estimate really free, with no pressure?
Yes. We measure, show you options, and hand you a written price. There is no deposit required to get a quote, no same-day-only discount gimmick, and no obligation. Plenty of people get a quote and install the following season.

Permanent Lighting

What is permanent lighting, exactly?
It is a track of individually addressable commercial-grade LED fixtures seated inside a low-profile channel that mounts flush to your fascia or roofline. The channel is color-matched to your trim, so from the street during the day it reads as architectural detail. At night it can be anything from subtle warm white accent lighting to a full animated holiday display.
Will the lights damage my roof or fascia?
No. Fixtures mount to the fascia board, not through the roofing material, so your roof warranty is untouched. The channel is fastened mechanically rather than glued, and the installation is non-destructive — if the system were ever removed, you would be left with small fastener holes in the fascia and nothing more.
What can the lights actually do?
Over 16 million colors, hundreds of preset scenes, custom zones, individual pixel control for animations and chases, music sync, and automatic scheduling. Most homeowners settle into warm white most nights for everyday curb appeal, then switch to holiday, game-day, or party scenes when they want them.
Are they controlled from an app?
Yes. A professional-grade controller app on iOS and Android handles color, brightness, scenes, zones, and schedules. You can set lights to come on at sunset and off at midnight automatically, and schedule holiday scenes for specific dates so Halloween and Christmas simply happen without you touching anything.
Can I see them during the day?
Barely. The channel sits tight against the fascia and is matched to your trim color, so from the street it looks like a shadow line. It is one of the first things we show you with a photo of a comparable home at your estimate.
Do they work in snow, ice, and rain?
Yes. The fixtures are commercial-grade and weather-rated for extreme heat, sub-zero temperatures, snow, ice, and driving rain. The channel is oriented to shed water and snow rather than collect it, and no seasonal takedown is ever required.
How much electricity do they use?
Very little. These are LEDs, and a typical home running a full-brightness white scene draws roughly the same as a few traditional light bulbs. Warm white accent scenes at reduced brightness — how most people run them nightly — use less than that.
Is there a warranty?
Fixtures carry a manufacturer warranty and lifetime product warranty options are available. Our workmanship is guaranteed separately. If a section fails, you call us and we come fix it — you are not shipping parts anywhere or troubleshooting it yourself.
Will my HOA approve permanent lighting?
In most cases, yes, and the flush, trim-matched channel is why. Many HOAs restrict seasonal decorations by date but permit permanent architectural fixtures. We can provide product specifications and photos for your architectural review committee, and we recommend getting written approval before install if your HOA requires it.

Artificial Turf & Putting Greens

How long does artificial turf last?
Quality synthetic turf lasts 15 to 20 years with almost no maintenance, and the products we install carry a manufacturer warranty. Lifespan comes down to two things: UV stabilization in the fiber and the quality of the base underneath. We do not compromise on either.
Is it safe for pets and children?
Yes. Our turf is non-toxic and lead-free, and pet installations get a drainage-optimized base so urine flushes through rather than sitting in the backing. It rinses clean, resists odor, and holds up to heavy dog traffic far better than real grass, which tends to develop dead patches and mud.
Does artificial turf get hot in the sun?
Synthetic turf does run warmer than natural grass in direct sun, the same way a patio or driveway does. It cools within minutes of being rinsed or shaded, and the heat-reflective infill we use in desert installations reduces surface temperature meaningfully. In St. George we will walk you through realistic expectations for a full-sun yard versus a shaded one before you commit.
How much maintenance does it actually need?
Almost none. Rinse it occasionally, brush high-traffic lanes once or twice a year to keep the fibers standing up, and blow off leaves. No mowing, watering, fertilizing, aerating, or reseeding — ever.
Will it really save money on water?
Yes, and in the desert Southwest the math is dramatic. A typical St. George lawn consumes thousands of gallons a month through the summer. Eliminating that irrigation, plus mowing and fertilizer costs, means most homeowners see the installation pay for itself within a few years — and Washington County water rates have been climbing, which shortens that payback.
What goes under the turf?
This is where installs succeed or fail. We excavate to depth, install and compact a crushed aggregate base for drainage and stability, grade it to shed water correctly, then seam, stretch, nail-edge, and infill the turf. Skipping base prep is why cheap turf installations ripple, settle, and hold water.
Can you build a putting green?
Yes. Putting greens use a different, shorter-pile, high-density turf, a tighter base tolerance, and cups with proper sub-drainage. We build contours and breaks to the speed you want, and can add fringe collars and chipping areas around the green.
Can turf go over an existing lawn or concrete?
Over grass, no — the organic layer has to be removed or it will decompose and settle unevenly. Over concrete, yes, with a drainage layer and pad, which is a common solution for patios, pool surrounds, and rooftop decks.

Process & Pricing

How much does it cost?
Permanent lighting is priced by the linear footage of roofline we are covering; a typical single-family home runs about 100 to 130 linear feet. Turf is priced by square footage, with the base prep and drainage requirements of your specific yard factored in. Both are quoted exactly on site after measuring, and we publish how the pricing works on our pricing page so you know what drives the number before we arrive.
How long does installation take?
Most permanent lighting installs are finished in a single day. Turf runs one to three days depending on square footage and how much excavation and base work the yard needs.
Do I need to be home during install?
We ask that someone be home at the start so we can confirm the layout, and at the end for the walkthrough and app setup. In between you are free to go about your day.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, financing is available for qualified buyers. Ask about current terms and promotions when you request your quote.
What happens if I need service later?
You call or text the same number you used to book the install. We keep records of every system we install, including the fixture run and controller configuration, so service calls do not start with us rediscovering your house.
Can you install in winter?
In warm markets, year-round. In snow markets we install through most of the winter but schedule around active storms and ice for crew safety. If you want lights up for the holidays, book by early fall — that is our busiest stretch by a wide margin.
